I had the privilege to be the CO-HOST of “Big Apple Bhangra Event” this year organized by Virsa Foundation on November 5th 2016 in New York City. This was my first time ever hosting such a big show. It was simply an amazing experience. First of all, this event was no ordinary Bhangra Competition. Not only the teams came to compete from different states within US but what so special about this event was that all the ticket sales were being donated to Khalsa Aid. For those who don’t know what Khalsa Aid is, it’s an International NGO that provides humanitarian aid in any disasters around the world. Check out the website for more information : www.khalsaaid.org. I finally got to meet Ravi Singh who is the man behind this amazing organization as well. I was very happy to be a part of this event. It was one night full of so much talent and such an energetic audience. Virsa Foundation was able to donate 25,000 USD to Khalsa Aid with the support of the audience, sponsors, and friends.
